OUR STORY
HOT SAUCE BAR began with a chance visit NORI made to a hot sauce specialty store in New York. The shelves were filled with craft hot sauces in an incredible variety of colors, aromas, and flavors. Made with fruits, herbs, and spices, they weren’t just about heat—they were surprisingly flavorful and completely different from the hot sauces he had known before.
Tasting different sauces and discovering a favorite was an experience in itself. “We want to bring this flavor—and the joy of discovering your favorite—to Japan.” With that idea, NORI and JUNKO founded HOT SAUCE BAR together in 2019.
Our standard has always been simple: it has to taste genuinely delicious, be made with quality ingredients, and be carefully crafted by small producers. Guided by these principles, we select craft hot sauces from around the world and import them directly from the makers.
Since the beginning, we’ve traveled to events across Japan, introducing people to craft hot sauce through tasting experiences. In 2025, we opened HOT SAUCE BAR TOKYO in Harajuku, Tokyo. Today, together with our growing team, we welcome customers from around the world and help them discover flavors they’ve never experienced before.
