3. How to choose a hot sauce

With so many different types of craft hot sauces in front of you, it often seems difficult to know which one to choose. We hope this article will help you choose the right hot sauce.

If you like hot sauces, you already know what you like and can imagine the flavor just by looking at the ingredients. In the extreme, you can get a hot sauce that you like by choosing a hot sauce that is made with the flavors and ingredients that you like. For example, if you like jalapeño, you can choose jalapeño sauce. If you prefer a refreshing hot sauce, you can choose a hot sauce with lime or lemon. In this way, we want you to eventually find your favorite hot sauce and make it an indispensable part of your meal.

By keeping these two points in mind when choosing a hot sauce, you can narrow down the hot sauce you are looking for from among the many hot sauces available.

(1) Set your preferred spiciness based on a familiar hot sauce.

(2) Select a hot sauce by the color of the hot sauce, based on an image of the dishes you often use hot sauces for and the ingredients you often eat.

Although these points may not apply to all hot sauces, please select a hot sauce based on these two points. Please refer to the following explanations for each of these points.

(1) Set your preferred spiciness based on a hot sauce that is familiar to you.

Hot Sauce Bar sets its own Heat Level. HSB sets the Heat Level of Tabasco sauce at 4/10. If you enjoy the spiciness of Tabasco sauce without any problem, you can enjoy it up to Heat Level : 5/10 even if you put a little too much.

Heat Level : 1 ~ 3] → Emphasis on flavor. Recommended for those who plan to enjoy spicy food together with those who do not like spicy food. The spiciness is low, but there are a variety of flavors, so it can be used like a dressing.

Heat Level: 4 ~ 5] → Recommended for those who find the spiciness of Tabasco sauce just right. It is possible to feel the spiciness after the flavor.

Heat Level: 6 ~ 7] → Recommended for those who feel the spiciness of the Tabasco sauce is not enough, but still want to enjoy the full flavor. You can feel the spiciness after the flavor.

Heat Level:8 ~ 9】 → Focus on spiciness. It is a good choice for those who want to spice up their food, as even a small amount can add a lot of spiciness. The flavor tends to be simple, such as acidic and smoky.

Heat Level: 10 ~ ] → Intense spiciness with entertainment value. Recommended for those who usually eat very hot sauces and spicy food. You can enjoy hot sauces made with rare chili peppers that are not available in Japan.

(2) Select hot sauces by the color of the hot sauce, based on an image of the dishes you often use hot sauces for and the ingredients you eat most often.

By looking at the color of the hot sauce, you can usually tell what kind of food it goes well with. There are three main hot sauce color types: [red], [green], and [yellow (brown)].

Red hot sauces have a standard flavor and can be used with pizza, pasta, and many other dishes. Recommended for those who like to enjoy hot sauce with any dish when eating.

Green] Many have a refreshing green taste from the green chili peppers and a light, refreshing flavor from the lime, etc. Recommended for use with vegetables and seafood dishes.

Yellowish (brownish)] Many of them have a strong smoky flavor and use spices such as cumin and ginger, and are recommended for use with meat dishes and BBQ occasions.

Not all of them absolutely fall into this category, but after categorizing them roughly, please choose the rest by checking the ingredients and product description.
