The brand’s founder, Maritza, comes from a family that has operated “Puerto Viejo,” the oldest Dominican restaurant in New York City, since 1986. After a devastating fire and during the restaurant’s rebuild, her family’s cherished recipes inspired what would become Pisqueya［pees-keh-yah］.
