A Japanese craft hot sauce from Kyoto. MOTOI SAUCE is one of the consistently top-selling sauce at the Hot Sauce Bar Tokyo store. The recipe was created by Chef Motoi Maeda of the Kyoto-based French restaurant MOTOI, and each bottle is carefully handmade by the MOTOI team. Made with yuzu sourced from Kyoto, this sauce combines chili peppers with a subtle hint of soy sauce. Its smooth, slightly thick texture comes from yuzu peel paste. No food additives are used—this is a 100% additive-free hot sauce. With a distinctly Japanese aesthetic, this sauce brings together French sensibility and Japanese umami in a gentle, well-balanced heat. The spice is never overpowering, making it approachable even for those who are not accustomed to spicy foods.
